A shelter, on purpose

Riparo is Italian for shelter. Not a fortress, not a hospital — the small roof you stand under while the weather passes.

An umbrella resting beside a doorstep, rain outside, a forget-me-not on a stool

Caregiving has weather. A morning when the shower is refused again. An evening of the same question, asked with the same worry, ten times. A night that will not end. None of it is an emergency, and all of it is heavy — and it mostly happens when nobody else is around to ask.

We wanted to build the thing you step into for a moment in that weather. Somewhere you can say what is actually happening, in your own words, and get something practical back — what to try, and why it can work — without being lectured, and without being told more than anyone can honestly know.

A shelter has walls in certain places

The name is also a promise about limits. A shelter does not treat you; it keeps you safe while you reach the people who can. So Riparo refuses whole categories of questions on purpose — medicines, diagnoses, anything new or sudden — and tells you who to ask instead. We think that refusal is the most caring sentence in the product.

And it is free

Riparo is free — asking, the guides, the memories, all of it. Caregiving already costs enough.

Where to start. The guides cover the situations that keep coming back. How it works explains the line we drew and how it is checked. And the app itself is coming to the App Store and Google Play.
